Running 4.0 RC4 with an ID-51A+2 in Terminal mode it seems the Pi is sending a "Beacon" of sorts (just to my radio not over the net)
In that I keep hearing "W A 8 Y X M T" from the radio.. Nothing of course goes over the net but I hear it.
Nothign showing on the dashboard either
Also a question does 4.1 support terminal mode???
And how do I upgrade if it does?
)What advantages to 4.1 if any)
I like talking around the world with zero mW of RF
"Beaconing" sort of
Re: "Beaconing" sort of
Don't know the answer to your beaconing question, but the advantage of 4.1.x over 4.0.x is two-fold: first, 4.1.x supports Raspbian Buster, the new OS that was just released (and is required for the Raspberry Pi 4B); second, 4.0.x is no longer being developed, so if you want the latest features and fixes, you need to be on 4.1.x.

Re: "Beaconing" sort of
See if you have weather alerts enabled on the radio - I've seen that do some very weird things
Re: "Beaconing" sort of
I do not, on that radio because the ID-51 is not all that good at receiving distant stations (where I"m at the ID-5100 with a Diamond dual band has issues with Weather but the ID0-51 with that little rubber duck not a chance(
I don't notice it with the hotspot. only the coolspot.. Hotspot runs 3.x fully updated Coolspot is 4.0 RC4 in Terminal mode (No RF hence Cool).
