Disable APRS Hotspot Reporting

Post by Ae4g »

Hello,
How do I disable reporting of my hotspot’s location to the APRS network?

Thanks

See this note by KH6HZ sharing a hint by Gene N9MXQ:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=557&p=2126#p2119

In addition: There's also an APRS-related setting in the Expert Editor > ircDDBgateway Quick Editor: aprsEnabled (0 = disabled; 1 = enabled).

There's also a setting for C4FM to enable aprs reporting too. As well as NXDN. But obviously it depends on what modes you use (or have active)

I tried each solution one at a time...

Setting the aprsEnabled setting to 0 in Pi-star did not work (as also reported by users in the other thread).

Putting NOAPRS in the “Priority” field in your hotspot settings on Brandmeister did work.

Note: My hotspot is DMR only (Brandmeister network obviously)

Thanks for the help

It depends on where the update comes from, there is no option in Pi-Star to manage what BM does for example.
