Dear OM's,
I have the following issue for which I need some help:
With my Pi-Star want to connect to my own reflector which is in the same network as the Pi-Star. In the official host file, naturally my external IP address is stated. As my firewall does not allow to go out through the back door and come back in to the front door I made a local host file in the /root directory with the local IP address of my reflector and an 'L' as last character to avoid overriding. After reboot of the Raspberry, it will smoothly link to my reflector. BUT, after the nightly host file updates it remains unlinked. So every morning I have to reboot the raspberry or press the unlink / link buttons on the dashboard. Then It will link again without any modifications to the files.
Is there a solution to solve this issue?
I am using the latest beta as I run the Pi-Star on a 3B+.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Toshen,
Thanks for your reply.
I've checked the link and the settings in it. The settings are all correct in my config so this didn't solve the problem.
But thanks anyway.

Re: Nighly updates overrule local host files
Yes it does. When I reboot the RPi it automatically link to my reflector till the nightly host file update. Then it will not link till a power cycle, or till I press the unlink / link buttons on the dashboard.
Re: Nighly updates overrule local host files
That is what I thought so too.
A hope someone can solve this as I am not a Linux expert.

Re: Nighly updates overrule local host files
I have several custom hosts added by this method and if you look at the appropriate hosts file usually the custom one are copied to the very end of the file, this is not happening

Re: Nighly updates overrule local host files
I found out that the issue is probably not in the host files. Yesterday I # out the line /usr/local/sbin/HostFilesUpdate.sh in file pistar-daily.cron but the problem persists. This evening I will # out more lines in that file and sees whats happening tomorrow.
