Duplex hotspot question.

Hi All, first time post,

I have a duplex hotspot (MMDVM with Raspberry pi 3B) and I'm having difficulties using the Phoenix network, trying to use hotspot to hotspot without using reflectors and having to transmit on TG8. I can be heard from my hotspot, but only through repeaters. Is it possible to use the duplex hotspot in this way or is it beyond the capabilities of the network as it stands?
