Oh dopey me. Somehow I have locked myself out of my own system.
I have tried with username pi-star and common password ra*******, but no luck.
Tried my call sign with every password I can ever remember using...no luck.
Is there any way around my dilemma?
Any help appreciated. Ralph VE3EUK

Re: Locked myself out
Probably the fastest way to recover is to simply burn a fresh image of Pi-Star to your microSD card.

Re: Locked myself out
Thank you KE0FHS but I have reburned the image many many times,
The problem is when the new image opens up it wants me to sign in before I can get to the Admin section, and I just wont let me in.
I dont know what the password can possibly be.

The web interface? It must be the web interface from another computer.
viewtopic.php?f=45&t=22 is a useful FAQ. Make sure the caps-lock key isn't engaged, as Linux is case-sensitive. There are a few spelling errors in your previous post, so be careful with that. Open a text editor on the machine where the browser is running and make sure the keyboard is outputting the proper characters. Different countries use different keyboard character mappings, but the default username/password shouldn't be affected. Verification is always helpful in such situations though.... it wants me to sign in before I can get to the Admin section, and I just wont let me in.

Re: Locked myself out
Some basics: make sure you are using the correct image for your version of Raspberry Pi. Older Raspberry Pi boards can use the 3.4.17 image (available at http://www.pistar.uk/downloads/), but newer boards (3B+, 3A+, 4B+) require the beta image, currently 4.1.0-RC4 (available at: http://www.pistar.uk/beta/).
If I were facing your issue, I'd make sure to download a fresh version of the appropriate image from the Pi-Star website.
For a fresh image, the username is pi-star
and the password is raspberry

Re: Locked myself out
Ok I downloaded a fresh copy of pi-star (which I have done multiple times) reset my laptop, reset my wifi, and this time I was able to get into the system.
However, now when I configure my system I get part way through the configuration I get "Unable to read source configuration file" and as many times as I try to change anything I get the same error message over and over.
I have run this ZumSpot for over 2 years and now I'm stumped. I have purchased new memory, reset hotspot, etc. Same error at same spot very time.
Have also ran on several different computers...same error. Nothing makes sense.
What to do???
