I think I learned the hard way that you do not just "pull the plug" to turn off the hotspot. It will not reboot and I've apparently corrupted the memory card.
What's the proper way to do it? Should I turn it off in pi-star?
Also it does not appear that there is an easy way to remove the memory card to reflash it. Does anyone have a hint for that?

safe way to turn off hot spot
Re: safe way to turn off hot spot
From the Admin or Configuration page, click the Power link, and the click the Shutdown button.
Not sure what you mean that there isn't an easy way to remove the memory card, you should be able to just pull it out of the slot.

You can also issue shutdown/reboot commands via RF for select modes.

Very quick and handy for Pi-zero's where dashboard access is problematic!
