Can't upgrade beyond RC7

Post by W1RHS »

I have several hotspots running Pi-Star. I just updated and upgraded all but one of them to 4.1.0-RC10. The last one will not upgrade beyond Pi-Star:4.1.0-RC7 / Dashboard:20200203 no matter what I do. NTP time is right. I tried the update/upgrade from the GUI and from SSH. Rebooted several times and tried again.

Starting upgrade, please wait...
Detected Pi-Star 4.1.0-RC7 running on RPi hardware, attached to dvmpid modem...
You are already running the latest version...
Sleeping a few seconds before making the disk Read-Only...
Finished

Any ideas why this last one is fighting me?

Puzzling. Andy's github repo has nothing later than 4.1.0-RC7, but I did find a 4.1.0-RC10 showing up here:

So there seems to be something newer out there somewhere.

Anyone else know WIHIH?

Can't speak to anything else, but that page you posted looks to be running F1RMB's fork. Look here for details: **Link Removed**

Perhaps exploring that will lead to the answer(s) you seek?

I removed the link, this forum is for discussing the original Pi-Star images, and not any clones or copies.

Fine with me Andy, a bit surprised that the OP isn't aware of this if he is indeed running such a version.

RC 08
on 4.01 RC 7
go to configuration>expert>upgrade
should upgrade RC 7 to RC 8
if it doesn't. bad image of RC 7
hope that helps

You will need to alternate sudo pistar-update and sudo pistar-upgrade, and in that order, for each change of release version.

I always prefer to do this from an SSH shell.

Or as shown above hit the update and upgrade links on the pistar dashboard, which negates the SSH login. Two ways of achieving the same end result.
