Please help me understand the Gateway Activity entries

Post by 2E0PJY »

Hi All

Hopefully a simple question, but can someone explain the meaning of entries in the gateway activity window please. My BER is below 1.5% and I have no problems with QSO's all very stable and clear. I am seeing quite a few entries in the GW activity window though for stations that are showing high loss and BER rates, some are really high > 40%

Am I right in interpreting these as network issues relating to the remote station rather than my pi-star config?

Either, ither, or could be between their radio and their install (but they should see that as a high BER), between their install and the reflector/server or between the server/reflector and ur install. What's it's telling you is there is loss of data somewhere in the inet path.

If your seeing it on each and every station that would indicate it as a server /reflector to you issue. If ur seeing it on a few. I wouldn't worry about it, that much.
