Hotspot on for long term

Post by VE7PJG »

Excuse the rookie question but for how long does one typically leave a Pi-Star Hotspot on for?

Should it be powered down, via the dashboard, after use?

Thank you.

I have two that run 24/7 and several others that run when needed.

I do try to ensure they are all unlinked if I'm not going to be using them for any length of time, overnight etc. So they're not pulling on reflector/ repeater resources, but as to power they're always powered on.

I never switch my Raspberry Pi off as it uses little power, it only really goes down for a few minutes when my bash script is updating the software.
