Well, you read my mind....YES, it would be my intention to keep an HT on a TAC channel I use with a bunch of fellow hams....we chat most mornings. Also, I would like to keep an HT in my TV ROOM....YEAH, carrying around an HT is heavy LOL. I use the BLUEDV now for listening to the TAC channel and my HT on a common TG, like 3100. I'm a GADGET GUY....and an engineer second. Do I need a LAYER 2 LAN in my home....NO, but it's nice to have. LOL
Sure, I understand the iPhone Personal HOTSPOT uses the Cell phone WAN IP....which is why I thought it works OK, the BM GW sees two distinctly different IP addresses....SO that leads me to HOW does BM know which HOTSPOT I'm using at home with the same WAN address? I assume the packets sent indicate a specific MAC address and my router takes it from there. I'm not a programming engineer, my specialty is the transport and physical layer.
