hot spot not working

Post by VE2NGQ »

I WAS running my Alinco MD5 into a Jumbo hot spot from my apartment. I was very happy with its performance

I then added a 10000mah battery pack (i know it is over kill) to power my internal hot spot.and my IPhone 6 to be used as my personal hot spot.
I tried it with out with no success in a local shopping centre

Back in the apartment, the iPhone did show that it was operating as a personal hot spot.
Except I could not transmit in this mode

Closed it & went back to my original set up using my apartment’ wifi.
The Jumbo hot spot booted up but there was no communication

I was also was unsuccessful in attempting to reach my config page @ Pi-Star
I then went to check if I had an IP Address. it was not posted
There is a generic IP address that can be used but it did not work either.

My Wifi in the config. file is set up as follows:

Number “0” is set up for a test set up

Number “1” is set up with my apartment wifi network
.
Number “2” is what I set up for my personal hot spot.

Right now the Jumbo hot spot boots up
With no IP address I can no longer can use my radio thru my apartment WiFi.

I do not know if I have one issue or two.
What I do know is that i can not use my radio.
No local wifi
no personal hot spot &
i can not reach any repeater from my apartment.

I would appreciate if someone could help me in resolving this issue.
