Connected to WiFi but can't access Pi-Star dashboard....

Post by KI5OOP »

I am hoping someone can help me. I recently moved and got a different internet provider. I setup the guest Wi-Fi with the same ID and password I used on the old router for my TGIF Junior Spot. It Connected to the WiFi and started working fine. I put out my call sign and got a response with no problem.

I decided to log into the dashboard to do an update but when I typed in the new IP Address it tried to load nothing happened. I tried resetting my PC and nothing either. Now I am stuck because the instructions say to turn it off via the dashboard before powering down. So I don't want to ruin my hotspot. It's just sitting there on 24/7 now. Anyone know what I can do to get into the dashboard?

Expand... "guest Wi-Fi"?

Some routers have slots for two Wi-Fi SSIDs. One SSID is the LAN connection, the other "guest" connection ONLY GOES TO THE WAN (aka "Internet")

Such "guest" SSIDs allow outsiders to use your router, but BLOCK any attempt to connect to other gear on the LAN side.. From my router

Code: Select all

From the setup page (though the various buttons and fields did not copy)

That makes sense. I will change the main wifi to the old ssid and password to see if I can connect. Then I can setup the dashboard with the new ssid and password.
