well 2 other pi-star's are on the same physical network, in fact the same switch, so, i sort of doubt it unless the config of the system is stuffed? but I re imaged the card, still the same result.

if you can SSH into the pi-star, try the following;

ping 4.2.2.1

it should return something like;

ping 4.2.2.1
PING 4.2.2.1 (4.2.2.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 4.2.2.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=57 time=27.1 ms
64 bytes from 4.2.2.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=57 time=27.0 ms

Have you ensured all those nodes have distinct host names. Two nodes with the same host name could confuse the router.

Well I did the re-image again and this time I started RAW, ie, did not copy my config file across and instead manually set up this particular hotspot from scratch. expert/update/upgade all worked fine.

All I can assume was that my config file had some sort of corruption that caused my issues.

Thanks for your input.

I appreciate your input and I understand that it appeared to be a network issue, however, I have 4 other pistar hotspots, yes, all with a different host name, all running the same version/dashboard, all updating as they should, all on the same network.

I fail to see how an identical unit on the same network would have issues unless there was a corrupt file in the configs.

Re-imaging and giving exactly the same credentials/identity as before, it worked.

The only difference was that I did NOT copy across my backed up config, i instead built it by hand from the configuration page.

Anyway, all good now.

Thanks

Hello,

So your 4th hotspot Van have a network problem based on a bad connectivity because additional network devices or Smartphone disturbed the wlan or lan Connection or your router hat a reboot…

So Network Connection are not everytime easy to understand :D

Best Regards
