Good Afternoon,
My name is Mark Griffin, KB3Z
I have a Skybridge Hotspot.
I use the IP of XXX XXX X XXX and one day 2 weeks ago I changed the password.
Well evidently this is all fouled up because I cannot login to my Pi-Star that controls the Hotspot.
I even tried the login of Pi-Star with the old password of raspberry. And that doesn't work.
I really don't know what to do.
Can anyone out there help me.
I have a hotspot, that I cannot access the Configuration or Admin section of Pi-Star.
PLEASE HELP!

Re: Pi-Star Password Change and I can't Login
I tried this and got the following Error messages
0.7412984 VC_VCHI_SM_INIT:Failed to open VCHI Service -1
0.741290 VC-SM_Connected_Init Failed to initialize Shared Memory Service /bin/Shi 0 can't access tty:Job control turned off
So now what do I do
This is not working at all.

I also have never done a backup of the SD Card.
Big mistake on my part.
I asked Bridgecom systems to just send me the files that are on the SD Card. But they refused, saying that they used to do it but people fouled things up. They want me to send it back to them so they can copy the files to the SD Card.
There are a huge amount of files on the SD Card. What they all do is a complete mystery to me.
If I format the SD Card, what do I do after that?

Can you please help me to reimmage the SD Card? If you could send me directions on how to do everything you mentioned that would be very much appreciated. My Email is [email protected]. Please let me know if this is possible?
Thanks!

No, Bridgecom the repeater builders.KE7FNS wrote:
Wait what? Bridgecom the chip manufacturer??
They sell hotspots commercially that run pistar and mostly recommend their customers come here or the FB group for support.

Go watch a few of Graigs vids on our official vids channel.
Youtube search W1MSG pistar. Youll find a few of his vids there that cover what you need to do in burning the image and setting up your hotspot with pistar.

Gentlemen,
I watched a video late afternoon on Re-Imaging the Hotspot SD Card with Pi-Star. I did that and it loaded right up.
My Hotspot is up and running once again.
Thanks for all of your help!

Hi Mark,
Great job.
Backup your config files.
That will ease a lot. You will need them in 12 month, maybe
