Reading TX / RX status via CLI

Post by dd0ul »

Moin,

is there a chance to read the HF status (mmdvm transmitting oder mmdvm receiving) from the commandline? Like reading the temperature

echo "$(cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp) / 1000" | bc

No, it is impossible, the RF status is on the STM32 microprocessor directly on the hat, not on the RPi.

The problem is the serial port is already in use by MMDVMHost, so you can't query the hat while MMDVMHost is operating, that is why during flashing or using MMDVMCal it kills the MMDVMHost process first.

It is also why the dashboard scrapes the log files instead of directly accessing the STM32 hardware.
If someones previous actions are any indication of their future actions, then I predict the deletion and removal of access will happen at any moment. 7-11-2020.
