Simplex freq separation range???

Post by k4em » Fri Aug 09, 2019 2:52 pm

I am setting up 2 hotspot's, Chinese Jumbospots, one for DMR and the other for DMRtoYSF. I have a simplex freq separation of 1 MHz, is that ok? The codeplugs are configured properly, just curious if there are any rules for simplex freq separation spread. I also know you have to follow the local band plan, no sat freq's, etc.

The channel bandwidth for DMR digital data is 12.5 kHz, so you can get much tighter separation if you wanted.

The real underlying issue is how bad are the radios on the modems at spewing out spurious signals, and the only way to determine that is to hook them up to a spectrum analyzer and find out.
