It's a BTech 6X2, similar to Anytone 686.

Again, I'm 99.95% sure the issue is not with the handheld, since it works fine when the hotspot is not in "dual-hat" configuration. For that matter, I'm not sure how the hotspot being de-sensed would affect my handhelds ability to receive when the hotspot is in dual-hat config.

Still trying to find a SMA to PL-259 adapter to try separating the antennae.

It is a puzzling problem but I do know that the handheld will behave differently when the frequencies are different for Tx and Rx, so it's unavoidable that you are changing two things at once which makes things more confusing,

I don't have equivalent hotspot hardware here to test with, but I have an AT-D868UV and an AT-D878UV. Both work fine with real RF repeaters and with simplex hotspots.

Happy to try to help further, the issue with desense on the hotspot Rx is going to be problematic for weaker signals which you should not have if the handheld is quite close to the hotspot.

Here's a screen cap of the channel for the Reddit TG via my hotstpot. Note that even if I change the timeslot to TS1, the hotspot still receives it as TS2.

Glad you got it sorted, but do consider the issues I mentioned if you want to extend the range that it works over.

Now back to another forum to try to sort out someone else's intractable problem!
