Yeah, its because the lines extend past the width of my terminal screen. Its really not that big of a deal to fix it on the forum, its a pain to go in one by one to try to get it to line up.

The point was really that the command is correct, so instead of cutting and pasting he could try manually typing it instead.
Yes, I see why it got in there, I just wondered if the typing had been truncated by mistake.

Like you I agree it should just work.

Thanks to all, that worked, typing in the command. There's a big difference between blank, space and nothing. Listening to America Link on my FT3DR. Sweet.
I just checked and my firmware for the hs_hat is still 1.4.7. Not a complaint however. 73

0x32 actually equals the character "2"

Also you somehow substituted ZERO in for your original statement for the term nothing.

NULL is already equal to nothing, it has no value. If something is equal to ZERO, it has a value.
