Power Setting in Expert configuration

Post by K4ED »

I noticed there is a "power" setting on the MMDVM Expert configuration screen, just below the RX and TX frequency set.

I'm having a hard time finding out what units this is set in and what is the allowable range. On mine, it seems to be set at '1' .. and that seems, well, likely low.

Is this field documented anywhere? Is '1' an abnormally low value?

The power field in the [Info] section is only for populating some information on some places like the BM dashboard, it isn't used to define any real output power, so it really doesn't matter what you put in there.

A power setting of 1 is translating that you are running 1 to 50 mW. A setting of 2 would be 51 to 100 mW.

Actual RF output is in the [Modem] section.

Code: Select all

RFLevel=100
Remember though a MMDVM_HS hat only outputs 25 mW when RFLevel is set to 100.
If someones previous actions are any indication of their future actions, then I predict the deletion and removal of access will happen at any moment. 7-11-2020.

Thanks a lot! When I looked at the [Modem] section, it is indeed set to 100.
