If you mean by latest the "image" to be Download of 3.4.11 of Mar-17, then yes a number of things would need updating.
As always run the UPDATE on a new image for the latest "updates".
NXDNGateway was dated April-28.
All NXDN works great with Pi-Star:3.4.13 / Dashboard: 20180519.
