You should be able to dial XLX's directly now via the dashboard reflector connector, or from the UR field of your radio, let me know if it works/doesnt work for you....
DTMF support is currently not supported for XLX, but you can still dial them as DCS/XRF/REF as appropriate via DTMF.
Experimental XLX support
Re: Experimental XLX support
This did not work as expected, and the new version of ircDDBGateway (now available on Pi-Star v4) is also not the complete solution, but we're getting closer.MW0MWZ wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:51 pm You should be able to dial XLX's directly now via the dashboard reflector connector, or from the UR field of your radio, let me know if it works/doesnt work for you....

Re: Experimental XLX support
i can confirm this works on my pistar. Adran Vk4TUX helped me with the configuration as described and it works great.
Re: Experimental XLX support
The way XLX is currently implemented in ircDDBGateway is flawed.ct1dvm wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 7:06 am DTMF works in the latest github version supporting the feature.;
https://github.com/g4klx/ircDDBGateway/ ... n/DTMF.cpp
Config must be set correctly ;
xlxEnabled=1
xlxOverrideLocal=0 << This parameter may be removed completely.
xlxHostsFileUrl=http://xlxapi.rlx.lu/api.php?do=GetXLXDMRMaster
Code: Select all
xlxEnabled=0
xlxOverrideLocal=0
xlxHostsFileUrl=
Re: Experimental XLX support
Because the code assumes that ALL XLX are DCS enabled, and they just are not, the implementation is flawed, there is just no other way to put it.ct1dvm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 3:41 amWhy is it flawed ? I disagree.It ensures a pure XLX list not after edited, and it works.MW0MWZ wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 2:08 pmThe way XLX is currently implemented in ircDDBGateway is flawed.ct1dvm wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 7:06 am DTMF works in the latest github version supporting the feature.;

Works correctly in PI-Star v4.x.xCode: Select all
xlxEnabled=0 xlxOverrideLocal=0 xlxHostsFileUrl=
I use the same source for the XLX hosts, and split them into the protocols they actually have enabled.
Re: Experimental XLX support
Andy,
Luis has it right, as does Jonathan in his ircddbagateway implementation. It is not at all broken.
Please, as Luis and I have asked, can you cite some examples of so-called XLX reflectors that don't support DCS so that we may investigate and discuss further. But it is going to come out that they are not actually XLX reflectors running xlxd.
Thank you.

Re: Experimental XLX support
The following XLX are not listed with DCS being enabled;
Code: Select all
XLX001
XLX002
XLX003
XLX004
XLX008
XLX016
XLX018
XLX021
XLX022
XLX023
XLX024
XLX025
Re: Experimental XLX support
I agree entirely. When I use my bluedv it connects to dcs and works splendidly. Could there be like a toggle switch switch where we could choose it to go to DCS. I would be most happy to test this feature for you. I believe the original irc-gateway had the intention to use dcs. All the xlx reflectors I use they use dcs to connect. Would you consider such a trial?

Andy:
I'm not sure how you're coming to this conclusion. As an anecdotal test, I took the first XLX on your list, XLX001.
I went to the XLX self registration list, available as a link on my XLX dashboard: http://xlx020.k2dls.net/index.php?show=reflectors
XLX001 came back as being hosted at xlx001.digilanditalia.org. So I put this in my /root/DCS_Hosts.txt file as an override and I successfully connected to DCS001A. I verified that I am connected via their dashboard.
Give it a try yourself.

Re: Experimental XLX support
In short the idea here was to honour what the users want, and what the XLX owners are doing, all at the same time.
XLX owners can advertise the services they want, those make it into the XLX provided host files, and I was merely honouring those, feeling that this was the correct answer, since if I was running an XLX and didn't advertise DCS, I would also be blocking the port, but I suspect that's what makes me different.
XLXs are now all available on DCS only.
