Gateway Activity List Question

Can anyone tell me where the /XXX data is being extracted from in the gateway activity? Looks like sometimes it is the radio model, sometimes the first name, sometimes random

In my 5100 I have G6KEE/5100 in
“My Callsign” it is this information that is picked up by the gateway, some people have their name, others just have their callsign.
