By default DPlus for XRF is disabled and requires restart if you choose to enable it
But what impact/benefits/downside is there of turning in on?

This setting helps avoid the need for possible port forwarding rules inbound. In many cases, DExtra protocol requires that port 30001 be forwarded for XRF connections to work properly. Since DPlus has no port forwarding requirement, this option is offered as all XRF reflectors also accept DPlus connections.

Pers. I wish we'd get shot of Dextra links. It's developer gave up on it yrs ago. although we were grateful for it at the time given dplus didn't want anything to do with us homebrew guys, today it really serves little purpose. XLX (and DPlus to a point) continue to lead innovation, catering to all protocols. If all the older Dextra reflectors out there updated to XLX code it would make things so much easier to support and maintain, but I'm sure many are holding out for reasons of their own, as is always the way when looking at technical progress.
