DStar Terminal Mode - DStarRepeater

I am trying to get Terminal Mode running - I can get it running to listen to. But I cannot Tx.
I am suspicious that it is because of my 7 letter callsign which works fine in all other areas of DSStar but this one... and using the RS-WS3A Terminal app which tries to cut my 7th (last) character off on Tx.

Could this be the issue that pi-star is not recognising the 7 characters during keyup?

Indicating why you can't work dstar networks with a 7digit callsign.

Hmm well that's not true.
I use my ICOM51APlus2 on DStar without issue on digital mode reflectors (as well as analog).
It only fails when using the RS-MS3W software and when using the piStar set as DStarRepeater/Terminal Mode.
