Maybe you can help, I was able to connect to all reflectors until abut 5 months ago. I don't know what changed but I thought there may be a problem with my hot-spot so I purchased a new zumspot. Everything was configured and I received the message that I am connecting to REF001 but never see the link up. I have inserted a copy of my log when I try to link, and when I unlink to see if you can assist with this issue. Any help would be appreciated as I have not be able to use my Icom 92ad on D-star for 5 months.
Thanks

Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
There's been a lot of requests from 001c 030c owners asking users link responsibly with their assetts they're seeing hundreds of links parked there for days on end with little actual use. They've asked users disconnect when not in use, but all that's mostly gone unheeded so now they've toughened up a little and permitting only one connection per ip. If you have more than one simultaneous connection running on a continual basis they'll ban you. So maybe you've been blocked? Simple test. if you can connect elsewhere, that might be the reason.

Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
Thanks for your thoughts, but I cannot connect to any reflector and was able to connect to all, until 5 months ago. I checked and have not been black listed but knew there would not be a reason for it. I have been using D-Star for 8 years, I am not a newbie and would never make multiple connections, so that is not even a consideration. I was hoping someone knew of some port change or other issue, that I must now make to get a link as everything else appears to be working.
Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
Does this include XLX, DCS, XRF reflectors also or just Dplus?W7JRG wrote:Thanks for your thoughts, but I cannot connect to any reflector.

Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
Sorry for the late reply, but I cannot link to any at all. Everything appears normal, and looks like the hot spot is trying to connect but could be blocked by a port that is not open. I have been using the same router and was able to connect just fine before, that is why I asked the question regarding any change in ports used by PI-Star?
Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
To the best of my knowledge, the ports used are defined by the servers and protocols. Pi-Star software doesn't have a choice as to what ports to use.W7JRG wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 1:30 am Sorry for the late reply, but I cannot link to any at all. Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
Can you tell me what ports are open on your router and I will match them on my router to see if that works. Thanks
Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
If that is aimed at me, I've never explicitly opened any ports in my router -- uPnP between the Pi-Star R-Pi and the router seems to set up the needed ports automatically.
The only port I've ever manually set up is for the R-Pi running a web-server on port 80, using a dynamic DNS name resolution. Not having a valid SSL certificate, I haven't tried to set up HTTPS port.
The only configuration page of my router that even shows port information has just:
Code: Select all
NAT/Gaming
Hosted Applications
Service Ports Device Delete
HTTP TCP/UDP: 80 microdiversity
Unprivileged HTTP TCP/UDP: 8088 microdiversity

Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
Thanks for the info, I will check to see if I need to open any ports to match your settings. I do have uPnP enabled on my router, I'll get back to you with the results.
Re: Do not see Mode or direction displayed in Admin Display
I added ports 80 and 8088 as in your table above and no change. Everything appears normal I get a green RX after transmitting in the radio info TRX section and it turns red and replies connecting to whatever Reflector I have selected, but never links so I don't hear anything. I have used the application successfully for a long time, I don't know what happened to cause my problem. The people who wrote the programming software logged on remotely and checked the configuration of my radio, and it is correct. This application has always been simple to install, could it be I need to upgrade? I am at version 3.4.17 and when I try to upgrade it responds with, I am at the latest version. I thought there was a version 4 available, is that correct? I also bought a new Zumspot thinking my old hot spot went bad apparently it did not, I'm stumped on this one. Thanks!
