Okay, you still haven't shared much about your setup and what you've tried, so just guessing here with a fundamental: For most hotspots, you must use D-STAR Repeater (DR) or Duplex mode: set up RPT1, RPT2, and a zero offset (either +/−0.000).

Okay, what I shared above applies to how your radio is programmed.

Also, when your Node type is set to private, your radio must be using the same callsign as the hotspot.

My radio is set up to the same frequency as the Pi-Star, I have just changed the Node to Public and see if that changes. I have just called out via a local repeater and not had a reply as yet. But I know the radio works on 2 mt fm, so its not the mic of radio

There are a couple of things to ensure are enabled within the radio to work correctly with the pi-star image with DSTAR mode. All, or some of these following recommendations could help with pi-star not 'seeing' ur DStar RF transmissions.

Set the radio to DUPLEX mode (- or + it does not matter)
Set the duplex OFFSET freq. to 0.00hz
Setup RPT1 and RPT2 fields with callsign and module / gateway
Set UR field to either CQCQCQ, USE REFLECTOR or USE REPEATER

Following the recommendations above will help ensure your radio is set 'correctly' for use the DSTAR mode with pi-star.
