Pi-star website

Post by G0LAT »

Hi, I am trying to log onto the pi-star/admin page and I get a notification that I cant connect. Anyone else having the same trouble? It says the pi-star server IP address could not be found. I have tried 3 different browsers and have the same results. Help please.

It depends on WHAT network, home networks should "see the name" pi-star but If I recall the hostname does NOT have the hyphen ( - ) in the name. Try http://pistar/ -- from here you click admin because you need the Username pi-star (here is where the hyphen comes in) and password of raspberry.

Hi David, can you provide some more details? What kind of hotspot are you using; specifically, is it a hat on a RPi 3B, 3B+, or Zero W? Is this the first time you're booting up, or were you able to connect successfully before and now something has changed? Can you share the steps you've tried in more detail?

Hi, I have updated the firmware on my RPi/dvmega dual band hotspot, it was working fine previously, but hadnt been updated for over 3 years since I purchased it new.
I have used the Pi-Star_RPi_V3.4.16_26-Dec-2018.zip, unzipped and flashed it to a SD card. My dvmega has the red led flashing continuously now.
I have just managed this afternoon to get onto the pi-star admin pages after about 5 days of trying. I have configured it as shown in the video by W1MSG, but cant connect to the dstar network.
I am not sure if I would need to change any setting on my router from what I had previously. Ports etc.
I did also have access via ircDDB, but my phone wont find it

Persistence (a.k.a., stubbornness) ... in my book, the best troubleshooting trait!

Depending on what you're trying to do with D-STAR, there's one setting that might help in the D-STAR Configuration section: Use DPlus for XRF. (You have to update Pi-Star after enabling that setting.)

Also, this Pi-Star wiki article might help: http://wiki.pistar.uk/Ports_to_forward_ ... NP_network

Thanks for you input.

What mode are you using? If it's DMR and your Bit Error Rate (BER) is above 1% , then you might need to adjust the RXOffset in Expert Editor > MMDVMHost.

No, I have my dvmega set up as DStar Repeater and using my 5100 to transmit. It wont work in the MMDVMHost option, the dvmega board led keeps flashing constantly in that mode. I can receive on and change reflectors via ircDDB and my iphone, but I am not being heard. I can't find any transmit settings to change.
