I had this happen on one of my hotspots. I powered it off and back on, and then all worked fine.

all 3 of my hotspots show address unknown. I try to go to pi-star/local and can not. the only thing that has happened in the last 48 hours is my home wifi went down. I did a hard reboot and got wifi in the home again but Pi-star config page is not available to me.

Did you also reboot the Pi-Star systems? They may still be using a previously assigned IP #, while a rebooted WiFi router might have wiped the assignments and made new ones (conversely, the Pi-Star systems may have obtained new IP #s, but your main computers may have cached the IP # from before the reboot -- in which case you'll have to figure out how to refresh the computer hostname/IP # cache)

Can you log into your WiFi router? It should have a maintenance page which lists connected clients and the IP assigned. If you are lucky, it will also show the "name" it is using for the device (otherwise you'll likely just get a MAC address display). For example, my u-Verse router:

Code: Select all

IPv4 Address / Name MAC Address Status Allocation Action
192.168.1.68 / EPSONF4EF32 00:26:ab:f4:ef:32 on DHCP Allocation
192.168.1.65 / DIRECTV-HR54-C94828D7 18:16:c9:48:28:d9 on DHCP Allocation
192.168.1.74 / unknown64c6670531d3 64:c6:67:05:31:d3 off DHCP Allocation
192.168.1.70 / Galaxy-S9 8c:45:00:6d:1a:4c on DHCP Allocation
192.168.1.67 / HP507DC0 9c:b6:54:50:7d:c0 on DHCP Allocation
192.168.1.79 / pi-star-3b b8:27:eb:4b:0b:d5 on DHCP Allocation
192.168.1.66 / ElusiveUnicorn b8:ca:3a:79:0c:36 on DHCP Allocation

What kind of hotspot do you have? Is it mounted on a Raspberry Pi Zero W/3B/3B+ or 3A+? If so, you could try using Auto AP. See: https://amateurradionotes.com/pi-star-auto-ap.htm

It depends upon your router... https://www.lifewire.com/accessing-your ... ome-818205 (my u-Verse modem uses 192.168.1.254)
