Hi
I have a brand new zumspot and was able to access the pi-star setup when I started it up. Configured the w-fi access, rebooted the zumspot and am not able to access it; used the pi-star local URL as well as the ip address. I have a Netgear C6300 router. I tried the following:
Rebooted router
can ping the IP for the zumspot on the router
can't ping the IP on the computer
reflashed the sd card
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
Silly question, but after closing the Pistar setup ap and rebooting, did you connect your computer to the same wifi? Like I said, silly, but I've seen it happen.

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
Thanks, I was on the same network. When I reflash the card, I can access the pi-star setup, I load the wi-fi configuration and then can’t access the pi-star configuration, the browser times out looking for it. I reflash again and the same thing happens. I have used two different PC’s and an iPad, same result
It is driving me nuts!

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
Some more info would be helpful:
- Which Raspberry Pi model are you using?
- Which Pi-Star image are you using?
A couple general network related things:
- A space in the network name can cause problems connecting to some routers.
- Some radio/modem boards require the WPA or WPA2 security standard, and won't work with WEP.

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
Hi,
The image is 3.4.17
The Raspberry is Zero w V1.1
I am using a very simple network SSID network and a simple PW of only alpha
I am using WPA2-PSK for security
Thanks very much

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
Okay, things you might consider trying next:
- Don't just reboot your hotspot; try powering it off and then back on.
- Check your router settings. Some routers have settings that prevent two connected devices on the network from talking to each other.
- Make sure your router is set for 2.4 GHz connections.
- Try starting over by burning a fresh Pi-Star image.

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
Hi Again..
Did cycle the power- searched for it and the browser message was pi-stars.local's server IP address could not be found
Using the 24 GHz radio on modem
When I burn a new image, I can get to the set-up page and do all the setup and have the same result. I return the card and try again.
I am not sure what settings to look for on the router, I don't see anything obvious. I do see the IP address of the pi-star is connected to the router, and I can ping it with the router utility; but I can't ping it from the PC?
And one last ? the zumspot has an OLED screen, but cam with no setup instructions- do you know the setup for it>
Thanks very much for your time and help!

Re: pi-star not visible in browser
One last thing to try and then I'm out of ideas. Whenever I start with a new image and use Auto AP (Auto Access Point) to directly connect between the computer and the hotspot using the Pi-Star-Setup SSID, I go directly to the configuration page and the only thing I set up is the Wireless Configuration. I use the Scan for Networks feature, select the one I want to use, add my password, click Save (and connect) [but of course, it can't actually connect when you're using Auto AP since the hotspot has a direct connection to the computer, not to the network). Then I immediately go to the Power page and Reboot. While it is rebooting, I disconnect my computer from the Pi-Star-Setup access point and reconnect it to my regular wireless network. I've been most successful in the many, many times I've done this using that exact sequence.
If you're using the new ZUMspot (v 0.6), which comes with the 1.3" OLED connected directly to the ZUMspot, then here are the settings:
Type of display: OLED
Port: /dev/ttyAMA0
Layout: G4KLX
Also, set the OLED type in Expert Editor > MMDVMHost > OLED section. 1.3″ = Type 6 (0.96″ = Type 3). After applying changes, reboot Pi-Star.
Bonus:
You can change OLED rotation in Expert Editor > MMDVMHost > Rotate (0 or 1).
You also can change between white text on black background (0) and black text on white background (1) in Expert Editor > MMDVMHost > Invert.
