Wifi won't connect at home to Jumbospot

Post by VE3GON »

Is there a way into the software of my Jumbospot so I can add my SSID and password.
I set it up at a club "hackspace meeting" and it worked there fine but not at home.
Someone else did the setup so I'm not sure how to access the software.
It does not see my home wifi system.

Thanks in advance

Hi Gil,

Yes, there a couple ways. If your radio/modem board is mounted on a Raspberry Pi Zero W or a 3B, you can use the built-in Auto AP (Access Point) feature. Alternatively, you can manually generate your own wpa_supplicant.conf file with your WiFi settings.

Search this forum for those two topics for more info. Alternatively, here are some notes about setting up Pi-Star, including the wireless configuration:

Hello Toshen,

Thanks for that help.
One problem is when I set up a wpa.config so that I can copy to the root file my drive always asks for a reformat, so therefore I can't get into it.
I will read your notes and see what I can do and leave my results here.

Thanks

Well had some better luck.

Tried using 192.168.50.1 to find my WIFI. For the longest time it didnt work.
Then one morning a couple of days ago it did.
It triggered the "name and password" section of the dashboard.
I figured out the name and password and "aha" I had the dashboard.

So i thought I'd just check section 5 I believe to see that my SSID and password
were good for the WIFI. Bad move on my part.
When I did that, that particular area " blanked out". It went all white and there was nothing.
No instructions of any sort and I couldnt get it back.
so now i'm back to square one again. and the 198 numbers don't work anymore.

I'm frustrated and fed up. I think i'm going to walk away from it for awhile.
Sorry for the rant but I thought I'd someone know.
