auto select wifi not working
auto select wifi not working
My pi-star wifi will not auto connect to an available wifi. I have both my home and iPhone hotspot set in the pi-star software but it will not connect to either. I have to delete both manually and add just 1 of the 2 back to get it to connect. What can I try to get it to remember both WIFI and auto connect when 1 is available?
Re: auto select wifi not working
Once you setup both, it'll remember both.
The order they're placed in is the priority the device will connect.
Usually you would place Ur phone connection at the top of the stack.
With ur home WiFi below it.
That way when the home connection is out of view it'll be looking to connect to ur phone.
When the phone gets shut off it'll look to connect to ur home connection.
The one issue with this is. If you leave ur phones WiFi hotspot feature active whilst at home you'll be connected to it, when ur thinking it's connected to the home service.
Also be mindful the pi usually wants a simple ssid name for it to connect with.
In many cases special characters like #@£&+%*\' etc. used in the WiFi name (SSID) don't handle well with the pi.
