3rd priority WIFI SSID cannot connect to Pistar

Post by W1CY »

I have no issues connecting to the first 2 wifi SSIDs listed in pistar, but the 3rd SSID in the priority list is not connected and drives pistar to start its own SSID. I have the need for 3 different SSIDs: Home, Travel Router, Mobile phone. If I use the mobile phone SSID at higher priority, it connects fine to the hotspot/pistar, but when at the 3rd priority level, it fails. Any ideas? Thanks.

Why don't you make the home and travel router have the same ssid and password. They would never be on at the same time or location and this would allow you to have only 2 wifi connections in your pistar.

I have not had any problems having 3 WiFi's in my supplement file; 2 home, and 1 T-Mobile hotspot. Works fine!

I did expect, however, that Pi-Star would establish it's own WiFi/IP if none of the 3 are available. But, with the latest version, it has not. The screen displays something line "Not connected" or such vs offering an IP address.
