Mobile Hotspot problem

Post by Kb2uet »

I was able to take my hotspot to work before using my Mobile Hotspot Android Phone to tether.
Not no more since 1 or 2 updates ago.
I scan pistar for wifi networks and see many wifi but not my phone like previously.
I have reset phone settings, rebooted done all I can do, still no good.

Any Ideas would be appreciated

my first question would be whether or not you can see your mobile hotspot from other wifi devices.

You can still enter the details by hand too, you don't have to scan and find the AP you want to connect to :)

What's weird is my laptop and tablet does see the mobile hotspot and connects no problem.
I tried different names and passwords for the mobile wifi hotspot , nothing. It does see the whole neighborhoods wifis LOL not mine.
I can't figure this out, the best was being up at work and having this running and connected.

Are the APs on 5GHz only? All the Pi models with the exception of the new Pi 3B+ are 2.4GHz only.

Thnx guys, I got it.
I deleted my phones hot spot setting and redid them, same on pi-star.
All of the sudden they started to show and work. So I'm good now, thnx.
