Just an update - ordered online micro USB to LAN cable. Guessing it will be a while for delivery. Could not find one here at the local computer stores.

In the meantime, making attempt to flash image onto new SD card - still figuring this one out, watching instruction video at the admin section. Going take some time and likely will have to call a friend over to help, as I tend to make things more complicated that they really are.

Gene - may I ask another question, please. I was scanning the "Show us your gear" forum and noticed that you also use the Jumbo Spot - Not sure if you use it for DMR, but that is what I am attempting to do. I mention this because, in the Jumbo Spot instructions I received, re: DMR, it says the MMDVM default setting is Time Slot 2. My concern is that, when Jumbo Spot up and running, is one only restricted to using Talk Groups that use TS2? Or am I reading too much into this?

On DMR on a simplex hotspot all talkgroups use TS 2. It doesn't matter what the repeaters/duplex hotspots use as they can assign either slot.

Update: While waiting for a cable to do a hard connect to my router, I decided to give it one more try with another wall wart - and it worked. The router recognized the JumboSpot. Strange, because it only had 1.0 A, while another wall wart had higher amperages. Lesson: make sure you have a good wall wart. This also confirms, what others have said - make sure you have a proper power supply.

Went into configuration and did all the proper settings (using DMR). Afterward - The stats box at the bottom of the Configuration page indicates:

Bitrate : 57.7 MBit/s
Signal Level : -70 dBm
Transmit Power : 31 dBm
Link Quality : 40/70

My concern is the SIGNAL LEVEL and LINK QUALITY (unit is just a few feet away from router)

SIGNAL LEVEL range/fluctuation = -74 to -71 dBm
LINK QUALITY range/fluctuation = 36 to 43 (out of 70), meaning just over 50+%

Are these numbers of concern?

Did test a TX on low power/simplex freq and Jumbo Spot invoked on display. Good. However, I am still working on setting my radio properly - using Retevis Ailunce HD1. Not receiving anything. Jumbo Spot instructions says both radio and hotspot must have same TS and CC, 2 and 1, respectively. I did this. Also, Instructions says RX offset of -475, already set in my Configuration - so I will have to fiddle around with this as as I am not receiving anything.

...as indicated just above, got the Jumbospot connected, but may I please ask, again, about by connection stats:

Bitrate : 57.7 MBit/s
Signal Level : -70 dBm (range -74 to -70 dBm)
Transmit Power : 31 dBm
Link Quality : 40/70 (ranging from 36 to 43 out of 70, meaning just 50+%)

Are these numbers normal, acceptable, poor?

I am now having the same issue as discussed here. Since I put in a newly-flashed sd card with all the pertinent files, I can see that the LEDs are flashing appropriately but the display doesn't come up and it does not appear on the LAN.
I think it's working but on some LAN in the hinterland.

First step, in my experience, is to use a CABLE connection between the unit and your router. Verify things work on that.

Second step, without the cable, is to scan for the Pi-Star Auto-AP WiFi name -- that would indicate it did not connect to any WiFi access point and is waiting for you to connect to it, and configure the WiFi (followed by rebooting so it will attempt to connect to the router again).
