I have the latest pi-star version set. I only have DMR and DMR2YSF configured using DMRGateway.
Now I know how to link to XLX AND DMR+ by going to their respective single-digit talk groups to talk after I connect with the properly prefixed tg’s. Where I am confused with YSF. I know how to connect to a particular room:
YSF: Prefix with 70 since ids are 5 digits and need to be 7
FCS: Prefix with 7100 since ids are 3 digits and need to be 7
The part I am confused about is after I make the connection, do I then change to tg7 to talk or do I remain on the TG I used to connect to the YSF room?
In other words, does it act like XLX and DMR+, or is it different in that you stay and continue to talk on the TG like a normal DMR channel?
Another dumb smart guy question
Re: Another dumb smart guy question
No dont use tg7.
Stick with the full no as its own Tg in the radio.
your talking to YSF as a talkgroup.
ie 70+5digit YSF reflector id no.
