HELp, my hotspots are not working anymore

Post by HJ4MOR »

Hello everyone, I have used my hotspots last october, but for work reasons had to put on stand by all my ham radio activities. Up to october last year both of my hotspots where working properly, and not january 2020, I have more free time and decided to start using them again, both connect properly to my wifi net, both were working properly (TX and RX) with my DM radio, I have updated both of them (just as this morning), but, no RX, and checking on my BM page, no connections to the net are present. Both hotspots connect properly to the internet, since I could update them, I have not change a single parameter. Any idea what is going on? Any input would be really appreciated.

One thing I see is that your hat is on an old version of the software. The latest version is 1.4.17.

Thanks for your input, but I really not know for sure how to update it, and besides, I've just finished reinstalling the pistar OS on one of them, now It connects, but cannot receive anything yet, no idea why, I thing I have to use a reflector or something, no idea why, in the past confine I didn't use any reflector

If your using BM 2341 the default server password changed in the later part of last yr. Passw1rd has now changed to passw0rd. (note the zero)

Your also using an older release of 3.4 you say you have updated, but you have only updated the backend services.
Use pistar-upgrade command after running pistar-update to bring yourself up to date with release 3.4.17

So,
If not wrong, there is NO newer version for Pi-Star available to download by running pistar-upgrade.
At least, right now: Jan 20th. 2020 23:35 local time (Barcelona, Europe)

P.D.:
System is up and running 24/7 so it runs "auto-update" about 03.30am local time as cron sets.

Yes, .17 is the latest in the 3.4 release series. My typing .19 above was a typo, and now changed. The intent was to have the user above move up from his earlier release to the very latest release.

raspbian Jessie is no longer supported by the pi foundation. They have advanced 2 more releases since Jessie.

Pistar 4.1.0 (currently RC7) is using the very latest raspbian release. Raspbian Buster.
