Hello,
Setting up my 3rd PI-STAR hotspot.
this time using PI-STAR 4.1.0 ST32DVM PI hat connected to Motorola CM200 accessory port.
I configured the software for simplex
Radio is receiving signal, ST32DVM board is receiving signal.
I thought all i had to do was select TGIF_Network from the config menu , program the radio and it should work.
I programmed TG 9998 (Parrot?) into a channel, then keyed up - no response.
I understand DMR3 under DMRGW is where the TGIF_Network information goes. Is this correct?
This is what my configuration looks like:
[DMR Network 3]
Enabled=1
Name=TGIF_network
Address=tgif.network
Port=62031
TGRewrite=2,11,2,11,1
Password=passw0rd
Location=0
Debug=0
TGRewrite0=2,11,2,11,1
I changed a couple of settings, Address and Password.
I tried Live logs and it shows my radio ID as being rejected.
I suspect the problem is in the settings.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

default settings for tgif network - not passing audio?
Re: default settings for tgif network - not passing audio?
I'm only using BrandMeister so this is mere hypothesis -- I think if you only have one DMR network configured it should be the first, regardless of which network.
"TGRewrite" really appears twice?[DMR Network 3]
Enabled=1
Name=TGIF_network
Address=tgif.network
Port=62031
TGRewrite=2,11,2,11,1
Password=passw0rd
Location=0
Debug=0
TGRewrite0=2,11,2,11,1
The full log message would have been useful...I tried Live logs and it shows my radio ID as being rejected.
Things to look at:
Configuration page, General Configuration:
Is the node type Private or Public.
If Private, does the DMR ID exactly match that programmed into the radio?
You mention "3rd hotspot" -- are the others also active at this time, and also on DMR?
Don't know if it applies to the other networks (it may only show for BM), but under DMR Configuration do the they all have different ESSID values?

Re: default settings for tgif network - not passing audio?
In addition to AF6VN's insights, the parrot on TGIF is a private call, not a group call, to 9990, not 9998.
You may need additional rewrite rules to accommodate this, depending on the ones you're using for other networks in the gateway config file.

Re: default settings for tgif network - not passing audio?
Thanks for the tips!
I was able to get the hotspot working. Set Node Type to public.
Also corrected parrot.
Now to try to figure out why audio passes through on a Allunce HD-1 but not a Motorola XPR-6550 lol!
(i think i know the answer to that lol!)

Re: default settings for tgif network - not passing audio?
Needing "public" implies that your radio has a different DMR ID (or call sign for D-Star) from that specified for the hot spot.

Re: default settings for tgif network - not passing audio?
TGIF can go on any of the DMR Network slots in reality, Pi-Star 4.x supports up to 5 slots, I would recommend that you don't use slot 3 since this is what the config page configures for DMR2NXDN/DMR2YSF, using it will cause you to get really angry with the config page at some point
Move it up to slot 4 or 5 and you wont feel the need to throw things later on
