Access to Dashboard

When I try to get to the dashboard via pi-star.local the browser, Firefox, gives me a "server not found" error. I have similar problems with Chrome. I have access to the internet using both browsers but they can't seem to find the dashboard. What am I doing wrong?

Just as an aside -- on my Win10 box, I don't need the ".local" part; only the R-Pi hostname.
