I can only receive SMS messages sended from APRS network.
If I send SMS to APRS or DMR recipient radio TYT MD-UV390 dose
stop after sending waiting something.

I see at pi-star admin that SMS is send and receiver is sending
something and pi-star is jammed TX ,...

I have both pi-star and radio as OH5BZR, I have tried also to use suffix -1 at branmaister and radio
for radio at branmaister I have tried ETSI / MOTOROLA / China Radio

Please send SMS to 2441087 from DMR, it can help a reasoning
if you do not have ansewer. As message place what info you need or feel missing
and related.


Problem can be at codeplug, pi-star or brandmeister but how to debug futher?

1. receiving SMS from APRS works
2. sending automatically GPS position as SMS to APRS works

Sending any SMS message from radio , tested APRS 244999 and
branmeister 262993 or my Pi-Orange/MMDVM douple hat at 2441107
will stall, radio sends somethin ans pi-star receives,... then pi- star
start sending TX DMR Slot ,... it stops sending if i press PTT.
After PTT pi-star starts listening and shows that SMS message send.

I have gone trough settings suggested at MMDVM anomalies,
no help.

so pi-star and radio are both as OH5BZR at database and branmeister top menu but at branmeister sheet pi-star OH5BZR and radio as OH5BZR-1. This is somekind of timeing errort while receiwing SMS. Radio is TYT MD-UV390 V P018.016

SOLVED, there was at codeplug tic at Private Call Confirmed and Data Call Confirmed and I turned OFF those,... some responses snd then
NOT SOLVED,... pi-star stucks TX

There must be bug at pi-star, I have at RADIO gps reporting on to 244999 every 120.
What happened is that at LOG all call's after releasing PTT showed up as SMS message !!!

After rebooting pi-star show's again correctly RF- ext. values.

Do not know yeat what causes it, i have tried to send SMS to barnmaister 262993 WX GPS

Ok, SMS works sometimes and not, it must be protocol timeing between pi-star and radio, have to test at other hardware repeater !

I have tried other repeaters and they behave same way.
I can get GPS as well SMS messages trough time to time,
and those might go to party who is recipient or not !

So most likely radio and pi-star work's.

Problem is that I do not know where I can track
problem at pi-start,... have to start learnin
pi-star log's !!!

If you have a chinese radio (Retevis, TYT etc), make sure that the box "Data call confirmed" is NOT checked on your channel window for your hotspot.

I have also been having similar problems and it appears to be a radio issue rather than a pi-star one.
