Hytera MD785 and Duplex Hotspot

I have a duplex VR2YVE hat on an RPi 3b+, which works as it should with various handheld DMR radios and my TYT MD9600. When trying to access either timeslot with my Hytera MD785 I cannot "wake the repeater". I have two Hytera PD365 handhelds, which work fine with the duplex hotspot but for some reason the 785 does not. I can hear received audio with it, just unable to transmit. I have scoured the codeplug and can find no errors, is there something I'm missing?
