If two hams wish to do a private call using separate pi-star hotspots logged into a DMR Brandmeister Master, does it matter what talkgroups each user has set as static or dynamic? If a transmission is being received by the intended recipient on a timeslot (say simplex hotspot), will Brandmeister interrupt that stream to send through the private call to the recipient? If not, is there any mechanism to make sure the recipient gets notification a private call had been initiated for them?
Thanks, couldn't find these answers anywhere on this, or other forums.
Private calls on Brandmeister via hotspot
Re: Private calls on Brandmeister via hotspot
Use a tg thats assigned to your MCC don't go picking no's at random..
alternatively use yours or your friends 7digit ID as the Tg no. Thats the current instruction for users wanting private tgs with BM.

and where are those instructions located?
Re: Private calls on Brandmeister via hotspot
Hi,
I believe the question was another:
What if HamA does a private call to HamB and (at the same time) there is a qso ongoing on a talkgroup, whis is static bound to HamB's hotspot?
I think, HamB will not recognize this private call because his hotspot is busy sending the traffic in the talkgroup. There will be no interrrupt for private calls in my opinion.
Another thing to keep in mind:
Private calls are always routed to this repeater/hotspot where the destination call was "seen" at last. So if HamB's last TX was on a local repeater the private call will be routed there. Not to his hotspot.

Re: Private calls on Brandmeister via hotspot
Good question, I can't find anything definitive after looking for 15 minutes or so.
I did find this, which doesn't actually mention own DMR ID as such, but does mention your repeater ID if you run one, so maybe a hotspot is treated the same?

Documentation? We've heard of someone that once wrote some.

Given im part of the BM UK admin group (as well as admin here) its what Global, USA and UK BM admins have been telling users for several months...
Use ur 7digit ID (or your 6digit repeater ID, for group use)
Be sure to stay within ur own MCC and not random no's.
Also same advice echoed on many of the BM support groups.
And just for good measure...
Its also listed on the BM wiki pages.
