Hi to all
Not a Pi-Star YSFReflector issue, perhaps something to do with DMR2YSF or with some TG (DMR?) databases around the Net
Sometimes happens that a YSFReflector goes offline (maintenance, network, etc.)
So, ysfreflector.de has a mechanism that adds or removes the reflector from the lists, this affects the YSFHosts file, of course.
But when this interruption happens for hours, the TG / YSFReflector is no longer found by DMR2YSF that raises the message "DMR TG not found in TGList", although the Pi-Star has updated its YSFHosts (/usr/local/etc/YSFHosts.txt)
==> /var/log/pi-star/DMR2YSF-2021-09-06.log <==
M: 2021-09-06 06:46:04.685 DMR audio received from XXXXX to TG XXXXX
M: 2021-09-06 06:46:04.685 DMR TG not found in TGList
Then the TG is recognized by DMR2YSF only after 12-24 hours and everything works again, despite the YSFReflector server being up and running as recognized by ysfreflector.de (thanks to Kim!)
I think is not a Pi-Star related issue, that works well here, but I would like your opinion and understand something more

ps: not sure if correctly posted, you will excuse me for the O.T.
DMR TG not found in TGList
Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
As I was saying, if the YSFReflector switches from offline to online, it seems to be 24 hours of "blackout" time for the YSFReflector TG before it can actually be accessed from the Pi-Star, although, in the meantime, it's well present in the YSFHosts file

Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
Which duration may be reflecting the time it takes for the master databases to be updated, and to get pushed to the R-Pi during the nightly update run.

Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
So, just waiting 24 hours it's possible go back to using the YSFReflector
In the meantime, even trying various reboots and commands, nothing happens
in fact my TG is missing in what I believe is a backup (TGList_YSF.txt.20210907)
Ok, it seems like a good way and I thank you so much
So, I have to find the process that rebuilds the TGList_YSF.txt and re-testing everything
In any case, it would be something to improve..
frustrating to have to wait 24 hours without being able to do anything !
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and TNX AGN

KE7FNS, Bingo!==> /var/log/pi-star/DMR2YSF-2021-09-07.log <==
M: 2021-09-07 08:58:22.200 Sending YSF connect command to reflector ID: XXXXX
M: 2021-09-07 08:58:22.200 DMR audio received from IZ6RND to TG XXXXX
So, I checked both /usr/local/etc/TGList_YSF.txt and /usr/local/etc/TGList_YSF.txt.20210907The talkgroup file it should be using by default is:
/usr/local/etc/TGList_YSF.txt
It gets downloaded by the nightly updates.
Code: Select all
diff /usr/local/etc/TGList_YSF.txt.20210907 /usr/local/etc/TGList_YSF.txt | grep <NumberOfMyTG>
Ok, it seems like a good way and I thank you so much

Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
frankly, "something" I don't know whatsomething to improve
just researching why you have to wait 24 hours after a reflector reset and how to fix it
anyway, thanks to your help I noticed Andy's (MW0MWZ) script
https://github.com/AndyTaylorTweet/Pi-S ... sUpdate.sh
located here: /usr/local/sbin/HostFilesUpdate.sh
used at least by:
- /usr/local/sbin/pistar-remote
- /usr/local/sbin/pistar-update
- /usr/local/sbin/pistar-daily.cron
So, in my case, we are talking about how these two files are updated, inside or outside the Pi-Star:
- TGList_YSF.txt
- YSFHosts.txt
Just it

Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
I don't blame Andy or Pi-Star!
as well as we are not doing bitcoin
just offering a service to our friends!
If the reflector server goes down for some hours, I repeat
all this waiting does not seem right
So, now there is a need to improve something!
maybe soon 'together..

Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
I don't think that's the topic, whether or not there is a reputation ranking of YSF Reflectors
So, in any case, the register of the YSF reflectors is this:
and Kim told me exactly this:

and this seems to me excellent and abundant! If it is listed offline, check will be every 15 minutes, if it is online, check is every 5 minutes
Re: DMR TG not found in TGList
Sorry but i disagree with you..
no complaints but just desire to know better why that
and I would like to underline your help with that TGList_YSF.txt
because, in my case, it was an important key and then, I can better continue my experiments and my research
nb: my reflectors are doing quite well on a dedicated bare metal server quite healthy.. with 'always something'
I hope this discussion can benefit someone else.
