Talkgroup crash after PTT-OFF

Post by OE6MFG »

Dear pi-star Support-Team

I and some of my radio friends in Austria have problems with mmdvm hotspots with pi-star image in the dmr brandmeister network. We use the brandmeister server 2321. If several talkgroups are booked. It always happens that during a QSO between two radio friends on a talk group e.g. 2326 one of the statically booked talk groups interrupts my QSO. This happens immediately when I hand the microphone over to my QSO radio friend (immediately after I turn the PTT off).

The problem can be easily reproduced, here is an extreme example with the TG91, since it is always and everywhere in use and is ideal for the test: To do this, make a QSO on a static talkgroup from your Selfcare (e.g. 2327) on your own single or dual hotspot.
If you now activate talkgroup 91 (WW) in your Selfcare under "Static talkgroups" at your own hotspot and continue the QSO with the radio partner on 2327 without interruption, it will not take long (exactly when the microphones is handed over) until talkgroup 91 arrives and destroys the running QSO on 2327

Dear pi-star support-team, have you ever heard of such a problem? Could the error be due to a wrong setting in the hotspot or could the problem also be with the DMR radio? Has the problem been discussed by other amateur radio operators?

It would be nice if you could help me. Many thanks

dear Pi-Star support-team,

if anyone is interested, I have detailed the problem here:
"Talkgroup-Crash after PTT-OFF, no handover-time for Selfcare-Talkgroups in the same Timeslot"

Englisch Version: http://tyrofly.at/funk.htm#Bug_Brandmeister_englisch
German Version: http://tyrofly.at/funk.htm#Bug_Brandmeister_german

At Brandmeister it is difficult to reach a developer (specialist). The support team denies the bug - at least that's my experience. One has the impression that the problem does not exist ......

The problem can only be solved if the data stream is carefully analyzed and the developers of both systems come to an agreement.
What can be done to solve this problem?

Many of us have been following along on the BM groups, so know the history.

I believe it works as it should. When you have a large no. of static tgs on a ts. you will have many interuptions.

Only BM can solve this issue for you.
Its not a pistar 'thing' suggest you continue with them in providing session ID's as they continue to ask for them.
