Disable Sending APRS Information

Post by NY5AR » Tue Jun 26, 2018 6:11 am

I am using a DvMega Pi with PiStar version 3.4.15 with DMR only selected. My question is:
How do I disable the sending of my APRS location data? Is there something
in PiStar or MMDVM Host I have to set to disable it?

Thank You,

Vince - NY5AR

Funny you ask this. Yesterday I got an email from an area ham who saw my hotspot on aprs.fi, shown as a DMR repeater. I had never looked (do not use aprs) so surprise surprise when I went there, and there it was.

LIke you, I only have DMR configured in pi-star, no other services running. I have no idea how or why aprs information is getting uploaded. I see settings in other configuration files, but, none of those services are enabled/active.

I'd like to disable this as well, since it may cause some other individuals confusion.

Pretty sure you can disable it via Brandmesiter self care. Set interval to off.Image

My BrandMeister SelfCare APRS interval is set to off, but my APRS info is being sent, even with my radio off, so it must be coming from the hotspot/Pi-Star.

Looking at aprs history, it appears to be the DMR+ system. I don't use DMR+ and my last packet was 79+days ago. Which coincides when I last had DMR+ enabled on either of my hotspots..

Is the DMR+ subsystem active when when not configured?
