Ports for DSTAR and DMR

Post by WM4B »

Hello all,

I've searched around and found several answers to this question, but they were DIFFERENT answers, so I figured I'd best ask to be sure.

I've been given a spot on the tower at our brand new EOC and will be setting up a dual-mode DSTAR/DMR repeater (Repeater-Builder STM32 MMDVM). We've meeting soon to discuss Internet needs and I really want to give them the right answer the first time so I don't have to bother them again. They have been very agreeable thus far, giving me a static IP for the Pi (as well as space for the repeater and buying me an antenna system and installation) so I want to be a good tenant.

Thus far for DSTAR I have:

TCP/80 - Dashboard
UDP/10022: ircDDBGateway
UDP/20001: D-Plus
UDP/30001: DExtra
UDP/30051: DCS Connections
UDP/30061-30064 CCS Routing

I didn't see anything specific for DMR.

What am I missing?

73,

Mike

Thanks... that matches what I have for DSTAR.

10022/UDP is for the Remote control of ircDDBGateway, probably best not to open that to the world.

The other D-Star ports are used for interlinking - so a hotspot user (or another repeater) can link to you - you may or may not want those open.
the DExtra port is the exception, old XRF systems that don't use the XLX software require the port open inbound for you to be able to connect to them.

You might also want to make sure SSH (TCP/22) is open from somewhere with a fixed IP address only - so that you can mange the system, again not ideal to have it open to the world.

TCP/2222 is "Shellinabox" - this is the system we use to show SSH via the browser - as above, don't open this to the world, open from your home IP only if you have to open it.

Might seem obvious, but make sure the password is good - and change it a couple of times a year if you are going to leave the dashboard open to the internet.

Those are OUTGOING ports, you don't need to forward outgoing ports.
