Its now fixed - in the sense that the latest dashboard fix cures the insanity, I'll push out a new image this weekend too.
Andy, how much is a new MMDVMHost version needed for Pi-Star? I was looking at something earlier in the live logs and noticed that it's dated 20200615 and that the G4KLX version is some 400+ commits ahead of your repo. I realise that there are a lot of changes to consider in that diff.
This is the repo:
Yes, that's how it seems to me, I can't find a version string in the G4KLX repo that is 20200615 so clearly that is created by Andy's own unpublished git tree.KE7FNS wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 6:36 pmI'm pretty confident that repo is just the clone of G4KLX's repo that Andy uses to make changes meant for G4KLX's by requesting pulls and it is not the exact source code used to make the MMDVMHost binaries that are provided in the nightly update.G8SEZ wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 3:01 pm This is the repo:

Well I suppose that one day this may become available, it really depends on how much of Andy's time and effort Pi-Star takes up and whether he feels the need to spread the load among those interested and competent enough to improve things. I could certainly build my own version but whether it would be any better than the vanilla version and not break some things that are best left untouched I couldn't say.
I have a suspicion that he uses at least a custom makefile, and I'm not sure what other changes he makes to any of the original source code. I would love for that information to be published somewhere.
Let's address a few things here, my repo https://github.com/AndyTaylorTweet/MMDVMHost was used to submitting a patch at some point, I'll go delete that it doesn't need to exist any more.KE7FNS wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 10:15 pmHonestly, I doubt that will ever happen. I've asked for him to share his MMDVMHost build environment over a year ago when I was trying to diagnose a serial port error I was encountering, my request was completely ignored and just brushed off. I was never able to add simple print statements to figure out which function was the source of the error and why it was happening. So I ended up just giving up.G8SEZ wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 9:14 pm Well I suppose that one day this may become available, it really depends on how much of Andy's time and effort Pi-Star takes up and whether he feels the need to spread the load among those interested and competent enough to improve things.
