Those are the serial identifiers of the radios used... could be those users havnt ID's registered to their callsign. Instead showing the radios serial id, maybe users coming in over a bridge.

H5 is an ftm3207
F5 is an ftm100

Is there a complete list of mappings from serial ID to radio?

Yes. But not in the pistar software.
The serial no. is generated in each individual ysf radio.

I wondered if there is a simple way of recognising the radio model from the first couple of characters in the radio ID.

No worries if there isn't one that's easy to find.
