P25 pre-courtesy tone

Is there anyway to disable the pre-courtesy tone that plays before every P 25 transmission?

Are you referring to the raw data as sent over the air or are you hearing a tone on your P25 radio? If it's the latter, it would be a setting in the CPS for your radio.

This seems to be generating from the Pi-Star as I only hear it when I'm using the hotspt. If I use a repeater I don't here the pre-tone before the conversation.

Is the tone coming from your radio when you key up? Do other stations hear the tone over the air when you transmit?
Can you post a video (preferred) or audio clip of the tone you're hearing?

If you are listening in mixed mode on the p25 radio there is a pre tone from the hotspot just add a pl to recieve and it will go away.

...or put RX into digital-only; there's no reason (other than for testing) that I can think of to listen in analog mode.
