Hi,
It's been a while, probably a year, since I used the P25 mode on my FT70. It worked then, but as someone on this forum told me, you have to use the 'VW' mode as opposed to the 'DN' mode. Today I tried the Parrot, and it responded with colored lights for a few seconds, but no audio. Should I be using the DN mode now? I don't know ... oh well, P25 from the look of things looks dead as dirt. RIP ...

P25 & YSFw (vw full rate) will crossmode between one another.

NXDN YSFn and DMR will all crossmode between themselves.

I was going to point out the obvious that P25 will never work with ysf2nxdn! But the correct answer is above use DN for ysf2nxdn and WM for ysf2p25.

One thing to note is that when using ysf2p25 and you are still in the wires-x control mode the FT-70D will only transmit in DN, so once you have setup the P25 reflector you wish to use, you must exit the wires-x and then double check that you are using WM then you will be passed through the ysf2p25 bridge.

Thanks very much for your responses. I almost forgot this thread, but fortunately I caught up today. I guess I'm tuning them right (with FT70) so I guess the reason I'm not hearing anything is because there is little activity. Way too many reflectors out there ... everyone is spread thin.

ur saying p25 not working on ysf2nxdn.

Trying to connect to P25 network, using ysf2nxdn wont work.

NXDN isn't P25, nor is it p25 capable.

Just the same as you can't connect there using DMR its a different codec.


If you use the X key to select a connection, X uses YSFn which isn't p25 compatible.

Once connected.

Back out of X key mode

Change to YSF vw mode in ur yaesu radio
Once you have selected the p25 group you want a connection with.
