P25 Radio Tx Delay

I have acquired an EF Johnson 5100ES P25 radio. I have updated the FW, use the most current PCConfigure program and finally got it connected to my hotspot. However, when I Tx, there is a delay of 3 seconds between PTT and the actual transmission by the radio. I witness this on my Pi-star dashboard. It is only present when using the hotspot and not when using analog or simplex digital. Any ideas?
